When fire destroyed the chimney at one of my rental properties, I immediately called This Old Beach House. Mike Quick had done two jobs for me in the past and I was impressed with his workmanship, professionalism and service. He met with the insurance adjuster, helped me get a good settlement, then went to work. He rebuilt the burned-out chimney, repaired the damaged walls, and restored the ruined ceilings. 
   
The project was completed by the scheduled deadline, the total cost came in right on=budget and the townhouse looks like new. Quick did exactly what he said he would do and I cannot thank him enough. I can confidently say the next time I need construction work done, I will call This Old Beach House and no one else.

I have had the pleasure of having Mike Quick, the owner of This Old Beach House, renovate the home that my wife and I own at 34 26th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach. I can honestly say that we have never dealt with anyone in the construction trade that is as honest, dependable, trustworthy and easy to work with as Mike Quick. The quality of the work was excellent, the sub-contractors that Mike brought to the job were excellent and pleasant to deal with, the cost was very reasonable and the project was a pleasure. Mike is an extremely competent contractor and I would trust him with any project small or large.

Our house had become very deteriorated over the 19 years that we have owned it, but it now looks like a new house thanks to Mike.  Mike completely renovated the house outside and inside. On the outside he replaced rotten wood, installed Hardy Board siding, painted the outside complete and installed all new outdoor light fixtures. On the inside he reconditioned all wall and ceiling surfaces, installed crown molding, painted throughout, installed new carpet and new light fixtures throughout, reconditioned all kitchen cabinets, installed new kitchen counter tops and installed a new gas fireplace.

Mike was easy to work with, was always reachable by phone and when he wasn’t he always returned calls promptly.  He did things when he said he would and we were never delayed in the project because of him. He was also very flexible and easy to work with relative to changes as the project progressed and he always helped us identify good cost effective solutions to unexpected problems as they arose during the course of the project.
 
We contracted with Mike on a cost plus basis and I highly recommend that approach. His invoices gave a detailed accounting of costs incurred, the actual costs were always in-line with his original estimates, and where costs were different from the estimates Mike gave a detailed explanation of the reason and accounting for the difference, such as change of scope that we agreed upon during the project.
   
As the project progressed, I felt like Mike was more of a partner with us in the project than a contractor. I highly recommend Mike to anyone and would be happy to discuss my experience in more detail.
